StoryCrafters is an English-only programme of interactive story and drama workshops where children explore contemporary children’s books while developing confidence, expression and depth in English.
In StoryCrafters, children:
• explore contemporary children’s books and big ideas in a warm, interactive setting
• build confidence in speaking through discussion, drama and role-play
• learn to express opinions, give reasons, and use evidence from the text
• strengthen listening skills, turn-taking, and clear oral expression
• create new endings, short scripts, mini performances, and pieces of writing
• use English as a tool for thinking, expression, and connection
What makes this programme distinctive:
• a weekly English book club that is story-led and truly interactive
• contemporary children’s books as a starting point for discussion, reflection, and creative response
• Reading for Critical Thinking (RWCT-inspired): questions, predictions, patterns, and evidence from the text
• Oracy: speaking as thinking, with a focus on listening, turn-taking, and clear reasoning
• Drama-in-ELT: role-play, freeze frames, and hot seating to support confident and expressive language use
• Storytelling into Writing (Talk for Writing-inspired): guided retelling leading into new scenes, alternative endings, short scripts, and writing
